Headless commerce

Headless commerce refers to a new approach in e-commerce, which emphasizes separating the presentation layer of an online store from the underlying e-commerce platform.

Traditionally, e-commerce platforms are built with a tightly integrated front-end (presentation layer) and back-end (commerce layer). This means that all the components of the store, such as the design, content and functionality, are tightly intertwined with the e-commerce platform. This can make it difficult to make changes or customize the store functionality without also impacting the backend of the store.

Headless commerce, on the other hand, separates the front-end and back-end, allowing developers to create their own presentation layer while still using the existing commerce platform. With headless commerce, the front-end interface could be built using any programming language or technology, while still leveraging the existing e-commerce platform for backend functions, such as order management, inventory management, and payment processing.
